About This Course
All organisations – including research, teaching, profit, governmental and non-governmental organisations – use data to improve the quality of their work and service. Research and development are central to providing quality outputs, and data is the most important component of that process. The quality of research findings, services offered and development that ensues depends of the quality of data used.
While many organisations spend resources in hiring and training data analysts and senior researchers, the same cannot be said about junior staff that collect and capture the data. This is mostly because there are no organisations in South Africa that offer formalised training in data capture. Yet the quality of analysis and research findings depends on the quality of data analysed. The Centre for Statistical Analysis and Research (CESAR) is filling this gap by creating a short Data Capturer Course.
