All 3 days only R10,000.00 (Excl. VAT) per delegate
About This Course
Doctors, nurses, researchers and other health practitioners are constantly faced with situations requiring up-to-date evidence-based decisions. These decisions vary from patient diagnosis and therapy to public health scenarios. A huge, almost overwhelming, amount of up-to-date knowledge is published in the medical literature weekly. Yet many health professionals do not have the time to peruse the vast medical literature for the best available evidence for their day to day practice. And many do not have the expertise to search, critically appraise, summarise and apply available evidence to their scenarios. Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients or groups.
This course will provide participants with the appreciation; understanding and skills of evidence-based practice. Participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to assess, critically appraise and apply the best available evidence. The course will be taught using a mix of techniques including PowerPoint presentation, problem-based learning and group exercises to ensure that participants gain functional EBM skills and practical knowledge.
