We’d explore research questions and progress from variables to datasets. We’d delve into the capabilities of Stata and learn how to navigate its interface, including windows, commands, do-files, and log files. Next, we’d import data in various formats into Stata, export data into different formats, and practice appending and merging data from multiple sources.
In this session, we’d begin with an introduction to descriptive statistics, exploring its importance in data analysis. We’d then look at the applications of data combination and discuss effective data management procedures. As we work with do-files, we’d also focus on data cleaning techniques, ensuring our data is prepared both before and during the analysis for accurate results.
In this session, we’d kick off with an introduction to Stata graphs, learning how to visualize our data effectively. We’d then conduct subgroup analysis to draw meaningful insights from our datasets. Finally, we’d compile our findings into our first project report, showcasing the skills and knowledge we’ve gained throughout the course.
In this session, we’d delve into inferential statistics and explore the meaning of differences in our data. We’d learn about hypothesis testing, p-values, and confidence intervals, using these concepts to draw conclusions. We’d also cover Chi-squared and Fisher’s exact tests for analyzing categorical data, and examine parametric tests such as the T-test, ANOVA, and correlation to deepen our understanding of statistical relationships.
In this session, we’d explore non-parametric tests, focusing on the ranksum test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and correlation methods. We’d engage in data collection activities to gather the necessary information for our analysis. Finally, we’d compile our findings into the second project report, applying the concepts and techniques we’ve learned throughout the course.
